Question from V. Komara - August 30, 2020

What does "the just shall live by faith." mean?

Physically we live by breathing clean air, eating nutrition rich food, being active, resting, getting sleep and very importantly keeping our minds occupied with thoughts that support good mental and emotional health. Add to that the necessity of clothes, shelter and fundamentally essential, human companionship and love. Spiritually we live by faith, by hearing and heeding the Word of God. We need to know what the Bible teaches us about every aspect of human life as believers. Notice the Scripture says, “the JUST shall live by faith. The JUST are those who have received salvation through faith in Jesus Christ believing that God has raised Him from the dead and confessing with their mouths that Jesus is Lord [Romans 10:9-10].  All those who is born again from above is saved and therefore re the Just. Living by faith is following the leading of the Holy Spirit. Hearing the Holy Spirit comes from reading and doing the things Jesus has taught us and heeding the admonition, exhortation and ministry of the gifts Jesus gave to the Church [see Ephesians 4:7-16] the Apostles, the Prophets, the Evangelists, the Pastors and Teachers. Living by faith is basing all that we do and say on what we know is pleasing to God, whether or not men agree or disagree with us. Living by faith is obeying God despite our circumstances or fears. Living by faith is putting out complete trust in the hands of God knowing that He loves us and has only our best interest and good at heart. Faith in God is not blind. It is confident in the knowledge of His Word. His Word is His Will. That is what we live by.
