Lent Day 27 – A Prayer For You

“…praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints…” Ephesians 6:18

During this time of reflection and preparation for Easter, Resurrection Day, it is good to remember the exhortation given to us in Ephesians 6.

The Apostle lists praying for one another as the final weapon in the full armor of God. Some of the weapons, the helmet of salvation, the girdle of truth, the shield of faith, and feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace are all defensive weapons. They are there to protect us from the spiritual forces and war with our mind and our spirit. But some, the sword of the spirit and prayer are active offensive assault weapons that thwart and destroy the works of the devil.

"Our Father, Lord and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, we acknowledge that You alone are God, You alone are Holy, You alone are Omnipotent, all powerful, Omniscient, all knowing, and Omnipresent, in all things and before all things, uncontainable, immeasurable and inexhaustible. You alone are all loving, all kind, all forgiving, all merciful and full of grace. You are God alone and there is no other God before You. All our praise and worship belong to You, alone.

We thank You today Lord for salvation through the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. We thank you for Your forgiveness and Your grace, that knows the weaknesses of our frames, that we are but dust, frail earthen vessels into which You have place the rich and priceless treasure of the knowledge of the glory of Jesus Christ.

It is that knowledge that brings us to You today to thank You for Your grace, mercy and love toward us and to thank You for Your provision for us and Your power working in us to want to and to do Your will in all things and for the Holy Spirit working in us to conform us to the image of Christ.

Now Father, I pray for each one reading this devotional today and joining me in this prayer that Your abundance of all good things would be poured out on them, for health, healing, renewed strength, energy and vitality, a new zest for life and the fullest measure of joy and well being to cover them and overtake them now in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.

I pray for their every need to be met exceedingly and abundantly above all that they could ask or think. I pray that in all things they will be equipped with more than enough to meet the immediate needs in their lives and a surplus far beyond their needs, that they will be enabled to help to meet the needs of others in the name of Jesus. I pray that You would fill them with the wisdom that comes from above and with the blessing of the windows of Heaven opening for them and pouring out on them such blessing, as there will not be room enough to receive it.

I pray for their children to be strong in You and filled to overflowing with the knowledge of Your great favor and blessing in all that they do in the name of Jesus. Bless each one now that they may also be a blessing.

Thank you, Father for answered prayer. In the Holy and Blessed name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ of Nazareth I pray. Amen"
