A Daily Confession For Mind Renewal
You are a new creation in Christ Jesus, if you believe in your heart that Jesus Christ has been raised from the dead and if you confess with your own mouth, your words, that Jesus is Lord. [Romans 10:9-10] If you believe and confess, then You are Christ’s.
If you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed. You are Christ’s because you have been born again not of corruptible seed but incorruptible seed by the will of God. [1 Peter 1:23]
You are an heir of God and a joint heir with Jesus Christ. [Romans 8:17]
You are created in Christ Jesus for good works. [Ephesians 2:10]
You are more than a conqueror through Jesus Christ. [Romans 8:37]
You have forgiveness through the blood of Jesus Christ. [Colossians 1:14]
Now, about daily living in the real world…
“But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.” 1 John 1:7
The real world is not by nature a place of truth and light. It is a place of sin and evil, of temptations, destructive self-indulgences, greed, selfishness, anger, malice, hatred, violence and death. It is by fallen nature a place of cursed darkness. That’s what we know about the “real” world. But we are called to and born into another “world” so to speak. As children of God we are citizens of Heaven, because we are born aging from above, into the Kingdom of Light. We live and operate by the power of that “world” when we walk in continual fellowship with Christ Jesus, our Lord. In Him we share fellowship in the Light that is Life.
The fellowship in Him is the fellowship of light, and the fellowship we have is with Him.
Nothing can separate us from the love of God. But sin, which is in darkness can separate us from the favor of God and as a result from the flow of the provisions of God, because the blessings of God are in the light, in the realm of His will.
The Good News, the Gospel, is this, His love and grace are greater than our sin, but He is still a just God and He cannot lie. He also cannot deny Himself. To disregard our sin would be to make the suffering and death of Jesus void and without purpose.
Israel was promised great blessings and favor, but they kept walking in a place that did not please God. They incurred His displeasure and, therefore, forfeited the promises, not forever, but for many generations because of disobedience.
Now we have the amazing grace and mercy of the Holy Spirit’s presence with us and in us not only to want to do the will of God but also to do the will of God. If we sin we have the privilege of confession that connects us to the faithfulness of God to forgive us and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
If we say we have no sin we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 1 John 1:8
Which is another way of saying, the Word is not in us.
There is only one who wants to keep us from the blessing and favor of God, to imprison us in the destruction and death of sin. But there is the greater One, Who is for us and not against us, Who is with us and in us.
“You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” 1 John 4:4
This is our faith, this is our hope, and this is our confidence. God has begun the good work in us and He will complete it.
“…being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ… Philippians. 1:6
This is also the Good News, The Gospel. God has made himself responsible for our completion in Him. This does not mean that He will drag us kicking and screaming into the kingdom of His blessing if we choose to walk contrary to the leading of the Holy Spirit. But if we will cooperate with Him He will get us all the way to where He wants us to be and we will be fulfilled in all ways, in all things where we could never be without Him.
So, rejoice! We’re covered. God’s got our backs!
“Then your light shall break forth like the morning,
Your healing shall spring forth speedily,
And your righteousness shall go before you;
The glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard.” Isaiah 58:8
