In God We Trust

Trust In The Lord, Have Faith In God

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; trust in the LORD forever…” Proverbs 3:4-5

“So Jesus answered and said to them, ‘Have faith in God.’” Mark 11:22

Trust in the Lord and faith in God are essentially one and the same. Faith without trust is fear in counterfeit. Trust without faith is nullifies it. In other words if you have one you must have the other for either to function.

We trust in the Lord because we believe His word. We have faith in His Word. Because we put our trust in Him our faith has an anchor that will securely hold us in the midst of the fiercest storm.

Our faith in Him has the substance of the knowledge of His Word. In His Word we see His proven character and in our lives we can identify times and times again when He has kept His Word and done exactly what we expected of Him because His Word is one with His person.

Just as God will not be separated from His Word, His Promises or His Covenants, He cannot be separated from His nature of Love. His Word is the expression of His Love. Jesus is the incarnation of the WORD of God and the fullest expression of His Love.

When our faith and trust are anchored in God, He will not fail us nor will we be found wanting when our hope is in the fulfillment of His covenants of promise. When we base our lives, our words, our actions, our choices, our decisions, our provisions, our expectation of life daily and our futures in Him, He will empower us to stand firm in our trust and faith and He will reward us.

Prov. 29:2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice;

But when a wicked man rules, the people groan.

The measure of the righteousness of a nation is the the measure of the righteousness of its people who Trust in God and live their trust in word and deed.

The key is knowing His Word and confessing His Word, confessing His promises over ourselves, over our loved ones and out nation in all life situations to cause them to conform to His will. Finally, we must keep (obey) His commandments. I don’t mean that God requires us to keep a complicated set of rules and regulations, but He does require us to live by faith in Him.

“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” Hebrews 11:6

Faith in Him means believing all that He has said. Trusting Him is acting on what we believe about Him and what He has said. When we put our trust and faith in God mountains will tend to move as we speak to them.

“So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, “Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them." Mark 11:22-24
