Light Dispels the Darkness
When Jesus was tempted in the desert for 40 days, His physical strength was diminished, His emotional energy depleted, His mind vulnerable to the deceivers lies. The tempter thought he had Him right where he wanted Him. But Jesus had something in reserve.
He had the Spirit of God's presence in His heart and in His mouth. He fought and defeated the devil with the power of the Word of God, right in the midst of His physical, emotional and mental exhaustion.
We also have this treasure in our earthen vessels. What we say of God’s Word, His promises concerning us is what will turn back the works of darkness and bring the entrance of the light of God's presence. It is His Word spoken into the situation that brings the light. And that light contains all the power necessary to affect change wherever it is directed.
Speak the Word over your life and over your circumstances and see the power of God turn back the darkness and flood you with His light; light that darkness cannot overcome or resist. Speak the Word over the nation and its leaders, speak the Word over the government, the courts and those entrusted with making and enforcing our laws, over those who teach our children and particularly over those who preach and teach the WORD of God.
Speak the Word over those who care for the sick and those who provide comfort to those who mourn. Speak the Word over the economy and all who desire to work, to earn a living in order to provide for their families.
Speak the Word to your own mind and heart. Say of yourself what God has said concerning you, and say it often. Remind yourself daily that you are a child of God, an heir of God and a joint heir with Jesus Christ.
