Time to “Take time” and Enjoy Life
“They shall not build and another inhabit; they shall not plant and another eat; for as the days of a tree, so shall be the days of My people, and My elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.” Isaiah 65:22
Holidays help to remind us that life is intended to be enjoyed. That was God’s purpose and intent for man from the beginning. Jesus said,
“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” John 10:10
Notice He didn’t say I have come that they may have toils and sorrows and that they may have them more abundantly. He didn’t say, I have come that they might have sickness, want and poverty and that they may have them more abundantly. He didn’t say I have come that they may accidentally have a moment of joy on the rare occasion and they may have them more rarely and less occasionally.
He did say,
“These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. John 15:11
What are the things He spoke of concerning us in John 15? He is the vine we are the branches. We are to abide in Him and He will abide in us. We are to keep His Word and in so doing abide in His Love. As we abide in His Word, His Word will abide in us, then when we ask the Father anything according to His Word He will hear us, and He will give it to us.
Joy and the abundant life is His will for us and the Holiday’s provide a great time to remember, to celebrate and to share that life with others.
As you are able, enjoy this season of Thanksgiving, Advent, Christmas, Epiphany and the New Year with joy and celebrations, with laughter and goodwill, with a merry heart and a cheerful countenance. Let the world see the abundant life in you. It will honor God and please Him to have you embrace the life He has redeemed all of us to enjoy through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Have a very Merry Christmas season and make every day a celebration of the life of Christ in us. Believe, receive, enjoy and give. And be thankful.
To God be the glory, the honor, the majesty, the power, the blessing, the dominion, the might, all the praise and thanksgiving now and forever. Amen.
