We Are Not Confused, Uninformed or Misguided
Those who do not know the wisdom that comes from above may and often times do consider those who follow Jesus Christ and faith in the Bible to be out of touch with modern thinking, confused or brainwashed to believe that there are absolute truths, that there is good and evil and that sin, hell and judgment are real. They also close their ears to the greater truths of faith, grace, mercy, kindness, forgiveness and transformation. All of which are declared in that same Bible.
While there are many events and incidences in our present world that might be considered unprecedented because of technology, communications, social media and so forth, there are many things that are as old as man himself. So, we should not be shaken when we are criticized for our faith. In fact, Jesus himself warned us that if we truly become His disciples we will be treated the same as He was, because we identify with Him.
“If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.” John 15:18-19
But that should never deter or delay us in the proclamation of the gospel, especially in the way we live.
Mark those who rail and spout venomous rhetoric against the righteous, they will not prosper in the face of God’s love expressed through His people.
And that is the most important thing for us. In the face of all that is threatened against us we must choose to respond in love, in confident assurance that God is with us and in quietness and peace in our hearts that no weapon formed against us will prosper, nor will we succumb to the false judgment and noise of the evil one.
Fear not little flock.
“Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.” Luke 12:32-33
