Justice, Judgment & Mercy – Part 12
“Aliens shall stand [ready] and feed your flocks, and foreigners shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers. But you shall be called the priests of the Lord; people will speak of you as the ministers of our God. You shall eat the wealth of the nations, and the glory [once that of your captors] shall be yours. Instead of your [former] shame you shall have a twofold recompense; instead of dishonor and reproach [your people] shall rejoice in their portion. Therefore in their land they shall possess double [what they had forfeited]; everlasting joy shall be theirs.” Isaiah 61:5-7 AMP
The fundamental message here is that the promises of God that the world, as it is today, will be transformed is sure not only for physical Israel but also for spiritual Israel, the Church.
“For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.” Romans 2:28-29
“Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.” Galatians 3:6-9
Things will be made right again. The former shame and bondages that were suffered in the past will be reversed and the suffering of this present time is not to be compared to the glory that will be revealed in, to and through us.
Israel will be justified to the world and their days of bondage and slavery will be a distant memory as the nations of the heathens become their servants and their plowman. But these nations will willingly serve them because they will be submitted to Jesus Christ as His ministers and priests. And we are counted among them.
“And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, and hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.” Revelation 1:5-6
We, you and I have a priestly office ministry that is of the highest order in the Universe. Think of It. There is no throne higher than the throne of God and there is no monarch, no king higher in authority and dominion than Jesus. So, those who are charged to be under rulers in His Kingdom are equally above all that He rules over. As His ministers all nations are subject to their declared authority and power.
“And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus…” Ephesians 2:6
God, through the blood of Jesus, His sacrifice for us, has given to us such an exalted place in the courts of Heaven that there are none higher than us save The Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit. From that position of authority we rule with the Israel as one body in Christ.
“Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace…” Ephesians 2:11-15
The two are Israel and the Church, one by promise of the Law through circumcision the other by faith alone in the blood of Jesus Christ. In Him we have access and claim to all the promises of Abraham now and throughout the ages to come.
“And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” Galatians 3:29
Everlasting joy is our future, our destiny for all eternity to come in Jesus Christ our Lord.
