The kingdom of this world will become the Kingdom Of Our God
“Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!” Revelation 11:15
“Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down.” Revelation 12:10
From the days of the fall of man, God’s Kingdom has not been of this world. Jesus declared it before Pilate when he was arrested for having allegedly claimed to be the King of the Jews.
“Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.” John 18:36
Also, when He taught the disciples to pray He said to them, pray “…Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven…” [Matthew 6:10] Indicating that the kingdom of God was not yet on the earth and the will of God was not being done here.
The earth from the Fall of Adam and Eve has not been the place of God’s kingdom because it has been under the rule of Satan and his fallen angels who were cast out of heaven. [Isaiah 14; Ezekiel 28; Revelation 12] The sin of Adam and Eve brought death to the earth and Satan took the dominion as the prince of the powers of the air. His fallen place of stolen rule was in the atmosphere around the earth. From there he deceived the nations and made the hearts of men captive to his will through the lusts of the flesh, the lusts of the eye and the pride of life. [1 John 2:16]
“In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.” 2 Corinthians 4:4
The world has always rejected Jesus because its god is constantly trying to regain a lost place in heaven that he shall never see again. Yet he still deceives many into thinking that they can deny God, reject Jesus, live as they please without God and still live “happily ever after.” But it is a lie.
We should not be surprised or shaken when the world acts in ways consistent with their unregenerate nature. This has been the challenge for the church, even from the Day of Pentecost to this day. Despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary there are still those who believe there is no penalty for sin, no judgment to come and no law of God to be obeyed so they viciously persecute the church for proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ, imprisoning some, with torture and deprivation, killing others brutally, all because they preach Jesus Christ and Him crucified for the sins of the world, and proclaim the truth that there is no other name given among men whereby we must be saved.
Following the dictates of the flesh they eagerly mock and deride the righteous choosing rather to give themselves over to do all kinds of abominations before the Holy God, even daring Him to judge them or manifest His destructive power on them for their blasphemies, not realizing that God is patient and longsuffering. Because of His great love for the world He is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
This is why Jesus came to the earth to live as God and man to redeem us from the curse of sin and death. Now we, who have heard and believed and therefore received His grace, must not become judge, jury, and executioner to those who still walk in darkness. Rather, we are compelled all the more by love not to strive, but be gentle with all men, patient, ready to teach, in meekness to instruct those who oppose themselves so that God in due time will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth, and that they may recover themselves from the snare of the devil who has taken them captive at his will. [2 Timothy 2:24-26]
Our calling as believers, as Ambassadors for Christ is not to react to the world with indignation and violence when they reject us or our message or act in ways consistent with the god of this world. They don’t know any better. And there are some who have determined they don’t want to know any better. But even this is because their understanding is darkened and they cannot see the light.
But when the gospel is preached motivated by love it brings light. It illuminates the evil (death, hell, and the grave) looking beyond its outer trappings into the heart of its true nature and intent and points the way toward what is good; life and that more abundantly in Jesus Christ, alone.
“The entrance of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple.” Psalm 119:130
So, take heart. The race is not over, but the victory is already won, through our Lord Jesus Christ in whom we live and move and have our being.
We are not here to condemn the world, but through Jesus Christ we are here to save it. This is God’s mission in sending Jesus Christ as a man to live among men and women, boys and girls to show them the way to the Father. To be the Lamb of God Who takes away the sins of the world.
We are His servants now in the earth, declaring His kingdom and fighting the good fight of faith so that He, His Word, would not be muzzled by the evil one but that it be proclaimed loudly abroad to the world so that they will know there is a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. We are here to take back the territory of t
he hearts of men and women that have been taken captive by sin. We are here to bring the kingdom of God on the earth. This is the will of God for us.
So, let us not be weary in well doing, let us not grow weary in the battle. Let us wait on the Lord so that our strength is renewed so we can mount up with wings as eagles, soaring high above all principalities and powers, that we can run the race that is set before us and not be weary, that we can walk by faith in the Word of God and not faint. [Is. 40:31]
Hear the Word of the Lord to us today.
“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’ Is. 41:10
