Isaiah 45 — Part 6 — Wealth For The Just
“Thus saith the Lord, The labour of Egypt, and merchandise of Ethiopia and of the Sabeans, men of stature, shall come over unto thee, and they shall be thine: they shall come after thee; in chains they shall come over, and they shall fall down unto thee, they shall make supplication unto thee, saying, Surely God is in thee; and there is none else, there is no God.” Isaiah 45:14
Under the leadership of Cyrus, Israel would be restored and resettled in Jerusalem. In the years that would follow, the mighty and wealthy nations surrounding them would be subdued under Israel’s rule. Their wealth, their productivity, their scholars, scientists and sages would all bow down to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, to worship Him to acknowledge that He alone is God and there is no other.
The people of the nations would come as slaves (in chains) to Israel and because of the hand of God on the people of God the pagan societies will surrender to Israel and their king and make their prayers to Him for their life and survival. Israel will be the instrument of God to reveal Himself to the nations as the only true and living God.
All that the heathen nations had of wealth and resources would now come to Israel’s king and to his people. They would prosper, and only through them would the people of those conquered nations be provided for.
And so it will be with the people of God in this time. The evil, wicked ones who have amassed their great wealth through treachery, lying, deceit, intimidation, abuse, murder and theft shall not live to enjoy it, but it shall come into the hands of the righteous.
Those who have earned their wages, their wealth, through hard work, sacrifice, and a generous hand toward the poor will be richly rewarded with increase, with peace and the favor of the Lord from generation to generation.
“A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children’s children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.” Proverbs 13:22
