Isaiah 45 — Part 10 — Justified
“Surely, shall one say, in the Lord have I righteousness and strength: even to him shall men come; and all that are incensed against him shall be ashamed. In the Lord shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory.” Isaiah 45:24-25
Justified - to declare innocent, guiltless, absolved or acquitted, to satisfy the requirement of the law.
We are justified by faith, not our works of righteousness, because apart from Jesus Christ we have no righteousness, and without His atoning work of sacrifice for our sins we would have no justification before God. But because we believe solely on the basis of faith in His finished work of salvation and His Word we have both righteousness and justification,
“Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus…” Romans 3:24
The seed of Israel is Jesus and those who belong to Jesus are the seed of Abraham and through Abraham are also the seed of Israel.
“And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” Galatians 3:29
It’s hard to imagine any rational minded human being hearing the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and still rejecting it. And to be incensed against is unfathomable.
The message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is first and foremost a message of love. Not just a feeling or emotion, but love at the dimension of innocent self-sacrifice for the sake of the guilty. Those who pompously, self-righteously posture themselves in a haughty attitude of needing no god shall ultimately be brought to shame. This is not the simple shame of momentary embarrassment. The shame expressed in this passage is one of utter and eternal, regret, remorse, public humiliation and disgrace not only in this world, but also in that which is to come for all eternity.
You and I, the justified ones, will glory. We will rejoice proudly. We will rejoice without fear or doubting, without restraint or caution. There will be no need for worry, concern, or insecurity. We will rejoice freely!!! To God be the Glory!
