September 14 — Meditating the Word
For the next few days I will be posting a passage of Scripture that I would invite you to read aloud and meditate on throughout the day as a part of your set aside times of stepping away from the regular activities of your day just to take five or ten minutes to breathe deeply and think on the things expressed in God’s Word. If you don’t have such times already set aside in your day, then I strongly urge you to let today be the beginning of doing just that. You will be greatly blessed and renewed for whatever may unfold during your day and you will find yourself more rested and at peace at the end of the day rather than drained, tired, exhausted and stressed out as you strive to tackle the everyday circumstances on your power alone.
The Word of God is our source of life. Contained within it is the revelation of the mystery of God, Creator, Savior, Redeemer, King, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace and Wonderful Counselor.
So, let’s covenant together to commit just five minutes every three hours or so to stop and consider God’s Word and listen for His counsel. Now, you may not hear an audible voice speaking to you out of Heaven during this time and you may not think you received anything extraordinary that you can say, “Aha!” to, but there will be a great benefit to your soul as you just let the moment happen and at the end of five minutes you can return to your ordinary activity.
However, I suspect that there will be supernatural revelations and things that will become more clear to you as you think on the Word and allow it to go down deep into your heart.
As you think about the Word today please write to me and let me know what God has spoken to your heart that we can share it with others that they too may be blessed.
Today’s Scripture is,
“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” John 1:14
