Resolving the Tension

Reading the Word aloud brings it into sharper focus as we hear the words in a declared context. As you read today try reading and emphasizing different words in these Scriptures and see how the meaning can become broader and more clear than just a single reading might reveal.

Today the issue is balance of understanding. On the one hand we walk by faith and not by sight. On the other we are called to be vigilant (to pay attention, be alert, be watchful) to avoid the works of the devil. Can we do both?

Hint: The work of the Holy Spirit

“For we walk by faith, not by sight…” 2 Corinthians 5:7

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour…” 1 Peter 5:8
