Health to all you flesh

Here we see plainly that giving attention to the Word of God by sealing it in our hearts, as we would exercise any skill so often that using it becomes second nature to us. Those one who would become skillful violinists must first spend countless hours learning the most basic rudiments of playing the instrument then with years of instruction and practice over time both their knowledge and their physical maturation and dexterity equips them to make amazingly dynamic and beautiful music on the instrument. And they must continue to practice and perform or that skill will wax and slowly decline.

Now the Word is like this in some significant ways. Our health and wellbeing are tied to the power of the Word in our hearts to keep us alive and thriving. Indeed empowering us to be fruitful and to multiply. We get the Word in our hearts by giving our attention to it.

As you read the passage today and meditate on it please share with me and with others here on the site what truths the Spirit of God reveals to your heart.

“My son, give attention to my words, incline your ear to my sayings.

Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh.” Proverbs 4:20-22
