Preserving Child-like Awe
Did you ever think that childlike innocence and a carefree abandonment to Jesus is a choice we all can make? One of the best times to make that conscious choice is when things get very oppressive and our lives become very complicated and stressful. I have never seen a healthy two, three, four, five or even a six year old in a loving, caring family with Godly parents nurturing them in the ways of the Lord, wringing their hands and pacing the floor worrying about anything. I have never seen one contemplating their value or worth or concerning themselves with what they will eat or drink or where they will lay their head at the end of the day.
God is our Father and He loves us beyond our comprehension. We are not orphans, aliens or strangers. We are part of the family of God. He will always take care of us. That is what the Kingdom of Heaven is all about
As you read aloud today’s passage of Scripture consider ways you can become more like a little child in the way you live out your life as a believer in Jesus Christ in the kingdom of Heaven, now here on earth.
Hint: Child-like not childish
“Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 18:2-4
“So He said to them, “When you pray, say: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” Luke 11:2
