Jesus Loves Me, This I Know
“As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:36-39
If we are uncertain about anything in our relationship with the Lord, of this one thing we can be absolutely sure. God loves us! Period! And there is nothing that shall ever separate us from that love. So we can confidently hang our hope on that one thing and know that it (God’s love) will never fail us.
Now if I know God loves me I do not have any fear approaching Him, praying directly, clearly and without formality or reservation the utmost needs of my life, my deepest fears and sins, my highest joys and triumphs, my saddest woes and my darkest thoughts. He can handle it. His love is big enough to deal with me at the molecular level throughout the full range of my human and spiritual existence.
He loves me and He knows me. He understands my human frailty, my strengths and my weaknesses. By His Spirit in me He is transforming me from the inside out so whether I remain steadfast or stumble and fall He is there to pick me up and set me on my feet again and again and again, whatever it takes to fulfill His purpose in my life. And I’m ok with that!
Jesus loves me, this I know, for the Bible tells me so…
