October 19 — A Prayer Of Thanks
Father, thank You for grace, for the unmerited favor You extend to us daily, moment by moment. Thank You for the gift of life and that more abundantly. Thank You for health and strength, for energy and vitality, for wisdom to guide us in all we do think and say, for salvation in our Lord Jesus Christ, through Whose blood we are cleansed from all unrighteousness. Thank You for peace and joy in abundance, for the laughter of children and the comfort of aged, for the gift of hope and faith by which we live knowing You are our source for everything that is good and beneficial for life. Thank You Father for family and friends, for the body of Christ and fellow believers in our Lord Jesus through whom and with whom You cause us to prosper and grow in the knowledge of our Lord JESUS CHRIST.
Thank you for the work of our hands, for the provision for all our needs, for the air we breathe and the food we eat, the clothes we wear and the places to lay our heads, for good health and those who help us to maintain it, for doctors and nurses, for EMTs and Paramedics who come to our aid in times of crisis, for hospitals and clinics where medical care is given to the rich and the poor alike. Bless them and those they serve.
Thank You for those who serve us by their faithful work that is unseen for the most part, those who work in the purification of our water, those who remove the refuse from our homes and our streets and keep our modes of travel safe from obstruction and danger, those who repair and maintain the systems of our infrastructure, our highways, waterways and motorways, for mechanics and engineers, for architects and construction workers, for those who beautify our cites and our homes, for landscape workers, designers and those who plant, who mow lawns and prune trees and shrubs.
Thank You, Father for those You have gifted with special skills to work in wood and metal, in gold and silver in precious stones and in all manner of art and adornment of things both practical and decorative. Thank You, for those gifted in music, for singers and players of instruments, for choirs great and small and for worship teams and those who lead, who compose, arrange and create new songs for worship, for dancers and actors, for those in the visual arts that enrich our lives with glimpses of Your unfathomable creativity and who proclaim the Gospel in compelling ways.
Thank You, Father for men and women who serve in our military and those who maintain order in our cities and protect us from harm, for police men and women, for firemen and for guards who keep watch during the night.
Thank Y0u, Father, for angels that You have sent to minister for us who are heirs of salvation, for surrounding us with the hosts of Heaven to keep us from the work of the enemy. Thank You, Lord God, for those who preach the Gospel, for pastors, teachers, evangelists, prophets and apostles, for the ministry of hospitality and comfort, for administrators and maintenance engineers, for those whose hearts are tender toward the poor and the needy, for those gifted to give and those who sacrifice for the sake of others, for missionaries serving and ministering the Gospel of Jesus Christ at home and throughout the world.
Thank You for the fellowship of those friends, brothers and sisters in Christ, who come along side us by the power of the Holy Spirit to walk with us through the good times and the bad, who comfort and encourage us and embrace us with Your love. Thank You for loving, caring and supportive spouses, who encourage one another with loving strength, tenderness and compassion, for Godly children and for those who are seeking to know You and those who are yet to acknowledge their need for You. Thank You for keeping them and for turning their hearts back to You. Thank You for family far and near.
Lord, please, never let us forget to be grateful for Your love expressed to us in every area of our lives, every hour and every minute of every day. Keep us always reminded to maintain an attitude of gratitude in all things.
