Too Good To Be True

It’s a fair warning and a pragmatic way to evaluate things in order to protect yourself from what you hear in most ads and special deals or schemes to cheat you out of your hard earned resources. Have you noticed how every commercial sale presents itself as a means of you “saving” money. It’s a lie, and the advertisers know it, but it sounds good and the average person will not take the time to consider you don’t save money by spending it, period! Ok, if you need to make a purchase you are wise to seek the best you can afford for the least necessary to get it. But there is no savings involved, only less spending. Now we all feel good when we are able to negotiate a bargain.

Then, there is God’s Good. It’s good and it always sounds too good to be true, but it’s always better than we think.

“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.” Ephesians 3:20-21

Every thing that is good in the earth, every good thing that comes into our lives, every blessing, every grace, every favor, every mercy, every joy and blessing comes from God. Whether He flows them to us through a person, an institution, nature or supernaturally, He is the ultimate source.

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” James 1:17

Every evil thing results from envy and strife.

“For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.” James 3:16

It’s interesting you mostly never hear anybody say, especially these days, that something is too evil to be true. For most of us evil has no limit. We don’t think of it having boundaries beyond which it cannot manifest itself. We hear and read stories of such horrifying evil and we simply accept it as just the way it is. But evil does have a limit. It cannot destroy the spirit.

“And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him. Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.” Luke 12:4-7

Rather than thinking that evil is unlimited, consider that God’s goodness is without measure. We can never exhaust its store. God’s Good is never too good to be true. His Good is very Good to be true and so much more.

#True #Good
