The Weapons of Our Warfare
“Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth,” Ephesians 6:13-14
And this is our armor. Part 1
1. loins girt about with truth
2. the breastplate of righteousness
3. feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace
4. the shield of faith
5. take the helmet of salvation
6. the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God
7. praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit
8. watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints
By these we wage war in the spirit. By these we defeat the purposes of the devil. By these we stand with confidence and assurance in the Word of God.
The central core of our identity and the place of life procreation is also the place from which the truth of creation is passed and sustained from generation to generation. The loins, the depository of the seed of life connects us to generations past and future. Markers of DNA from the very first man to this present day is stamped on every human being. It is not a matter of random order or brute chance that the first weapon of warfare we must gird ourselves with is the truth. In a time when the social order and political opportunist seek to redefine natural gender identity as God created it to be and indoctrinate the young into a lie that sexual orientation and gender identification are self- determining factors of life, it is vital that we know what God has said concerning His creation, and hold fast to the truth despite popular opinion or the pressures and attempts at intimidation from those who oppose the truth.
Truth is the basis upon which all life is founded. Jesus said, “I Am the Way, the truth and the Life.” He also said of the Father, “Thy Word is Truth.” To the disciples He said, “If you continue in my Word you will know the truth…”
“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:31-32
The key to knowing the truth is to continue in the Word. Continue to seek it, to study it, to meditate it, to pursue knowledge and understanding, to apply it to everyday life, being a doer of the Word and not a hearer only. When our loins are girded with the truth we will not be deceived by the cunning lies of the enemy. The Word, the Truth, will make us free.
