The Weapons of Our Warfare – Part 8

“Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth,” Ephesians 6:13-14

And this is our armor. Part 8

1. loins girt about with truth

2. the breastplate of righteousness

3. feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace

4. the shield of faith

5. take the helmet of salvation

6. the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God

7. praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit

8. watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints

By these we wage war in the Spirit. By these we defeat the purposes of the devil. By these we stand with confidence and assurance in the Word of God.

As believers, one of our chief works of ministry is to look out for and support one another particularly in prayer. How rich, prosperous healthy and empowered the body of Christ would be if we all prayed daily for one another. Now this is not a call for any one individual to pray for every Christian, but to pray for those in our immediate circle of influence and for those in leadership, for the elderly and widows, for the young, for family members and friends, for the sick and those in need, for the weak and the lonely.

This we can do without great effort or complexity. God hears our earnest prayers, the simply stated as well as the eloquently offered. Our prayers can be as simple as “Father, please help (name) she needs comfort and someone to help her with her house work. Thank You, lord in Jesus name, AMEN.” Or, “Lord my friend, (name) is sick and he needs You to heal him. Please heal him now in Jesus name, I pray. Amen”

There are times when our hearts overflow with the greatness and majesty of God and we cannot help but praise Him in our prayers. That too is part of our warfare. However, your heart prompts you to pray, do it with all your heart, soul, mind and strength. Express your love with passion and make your petitions known to Him with the understanding that if we ask anything according to His will He hears us and because we know He hears us we know we have

whatever we ask of Him.

So, our faith in presenting our prayers to Him is made stronger by what we know of God’s Word. The more we know of the will of God (His Word) the more confidently we pray for His will to be done. We know God wants everyone to be saved, healed, filled with the Holy Spirit, prospering and being in health even as our souls prosper.

“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” 3 John 2

As we pray for one another we are all made stronger. The stronger we are as individuals, the stronger we become as the body of believers. The stronger we are as believers the more of the darkness we dispel from our midst.

These are our the weapons of warfare: Truth, Righteousness. The Gospel of Peace, Faith, Salvation, the Spirit and Word of God. Prayer and Watching out for one another. By these we stand in the evil day, and have great success in the presence of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

“For with God nothing shall be impossible.” Luke 1:37
