“Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus…” Hebrews 3:1
“Now consider how great this man was, unto whom even the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils.” Hebrews 7:4
“And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works…” Hebrew 10:24
“For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.” Hebrews 12:3
Our days are filled with activity, destructions on every side brought on by the noise of 24/7 media, images abounding from billboards, mail, ADs on everything that has an available surface. Everywhere we look there is something vying for our attention. All these things fill up our days and our nights. Our only relief from them is in our sleep, if we aren’t so over-stimulated by them that they invade our dreams.
But we are called to come away from the mundane things of this world to set our hearts and minds on the person of Jesus. To consider Him, to contemplate His Words, to know His ways and to follow Him, being imitators of God as dear children. [Ephesians 5:1]
We can only know Him if we know and keep his Word. We can only know His Word of we take the time to give our attention to it. [Proverbs 4:20-27]
Take some time today to turn off the world and tune into Heaven and gain the wisdom that comes from above, the peace of God that passes all understanding and the good gifts of God given to all who seek Him. [James 1:17]
