Having Done All, Stand!
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in highplaces. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” Ephesians. 6:10-13
This is another one of those allstatements that we can hear and immediately be brought under the bondage of thinking how inadequate we are to doing anything that perfectly. Well that thought does not proceed from the Spirit of God because it is wrought with condemnation and overburdening legalism.
No. The allhere is simple. We could say, and having done all you know to do according to the faith you have to stand. Remember the faith that we are exercising to stand is in the power of His might. To be strong in the Lord and the power of His might is the first of all. Second is to put on the full armor of God. Those two things are the allthat makes us able to stand.
Be strong in the Lord and the power of His might and
Put on the whole armor of God.
Being strong in the Lord is first and foremost being born again and being filled with the Holy Spirit. Being filled with the Holy Spirit is a gift of God that comes when we ask, believe and receive Him.
“And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit…” Ephesians 5:18
“If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will yourheavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” Luke 11:13
Let’s pray this prayer aloud and trust God that His Word is true and in it is the power to stand and have victory over all that would attempt to keep us from God's intended purpose of good, of righteousness, joy peace and of blessing in our lives and in the lives of others. [Hebrews 4:12; Matthew 24:35; Hebrews 1:3; Jeremiah 29:11; Genesis 12:2; Luke 6:30; 6:38; 2 Corinthians 9:7]
“Father, in the name of Jesus, please fill me afresh and anew with the Holy Spirit that I can overflow in the power of Your love, wisdom, mercy and grace. Fill me with the Holy Spirit that I may have the power to stand against the wiles of the devil; against every way he would attempt to steal, to kill and to destroy. Grant me, Father God, to be filled with the Holy Spirit that I might know and discern the truth of Your Word, to hear it, to speak it, to believe it and to live it to the fullness of pleasing You in all that I do, say and think. By faith I receive now and believe that You are pouring out Your Spirit on me to cleanse me, pouring out Your Spirit in me to purify my heart, it’s desires, motives and passions, and pouring out Your Spirit through me to bless others, to encourage them, to exhort them to good works, to bless and affirm them in the faith, to inspire them, to comfort them, to bring joy and hope to them, to reflect Your glory to them and to bring honor and exaltation to Your great name.
Thank You Father for making me strong in You and the power of Your might that I can stand against the cunning seductions and false witnesses of the devil. Thank You, Father, that by the power of Your Word in me I win the war against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high
places. None of these shall have dominion over me or those I love. [Romans 6:14]
I declare by the authority You have given me in the name of Jesus that no weapon formed against me shall prosper and every tongue that arises against me in judgment You shall condemned. This is my heritage as a servant of the Lord. [Isaiah 54:17]
Father I now declare by the power of the Holy Spirit in me and the promise of Your Word, that all my children are being taught by You and great is the peace of my children, my grand children, my great grand children from generation to generation. [Isaiah 54:13]
Thank You, Father, Thank You Jesus, Thank You, Holy Spirit. In the blessed and Holy name of our Lord, Jesus Christ, Savior, Lord, Creator and King, Supreme Ruler over all and the Commander of the Hosts of Heaven, I pray, Amen and Amen.”
