Confidence in Prayer and Praise

“Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.” John 16:24

“Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” Mark 11:24

“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.” 1 John 5:14-15

It was Monday night after a weekend and 3 years of protracted troubling news. I decided I needed to have a serious conversation with God, the Father. I knew He was not the problem in my life. He is and always is the answer to every problem. But I was restless and anxious in my soul and my mind was not at peace. Praying alone would have been good but I sensed in my spirit that I was dealing with a bigger spiritual battle than I could handle alone and I needed help to pray effectively.

“Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” James 5:16

So, I called a trusted brother in the faith; one who had grown up in part under my teaching and I knew him to be a man of strong faith and sound doctrine. As we began to pray we asked the Lord to show us what to pray for and how to pray. To give us discernment to identify where the real problems were. We also asked for the wisdom to know how to do warfare in the spirit to break the bondages, remove the barriers to our prayers and the flow of God’s resources and to have discernment about the present situation that had persisted in my life for more than 3 years, that we would receive a breakthrough now.

It didn’t take long until we were both hearing from the Lord and focusing our prayers based on the Word and doing warfare in the spirit directing our spiritual weapons directly on the enemy opposing God and us. We prayed for those who were being manipulated by the adversary to come against me and bring unfounded attacks against me. We prayed for them to be free from the influence of lying spirits, we bound the demonic forces that were arrayed against me casting them out of their places of influence and we spoke the Word of God’s authority given to us in the name of Jesus to bring the blessing of God’s covenant promises, through the blood of Jesus Christ, to bear on every area of my life, physically, financially, professionally, socially and relationally.

We began to worship with a song of praise.

From Mighty to Save”

Chorus

Savior, He can move the mountains.

My God is mighty to save

He is mighty to Save

Forever, Author of Salvation.

He rose and conquered the grave

Jesus conquered the grave.

Shine Your light and let the whole world sing

We’re singing for the glory of the Risen King.

Shine Your light and let the whole world sing

We’re singing for the glory of the Risen King.

And from “Healer” by Mike Guglielmucci

“Nothing is impossible for You,

Nothing is impossible.

Nothing is impossible for You

You hold the world in Your hands.”

Somewhere in the midst of the prayer and the worship I was flooded with a sense of confident expectation that all was resolved. The warfare was done and Jesus had given us the victory. It was as though a great weight that had been pressing in on me was finally and completely lifted.

Praise God for His great and miraculous grace! Praise God for His Word and Praise God for our Lord Jesus Christ in whose righteousness I stand by sovereign decree of God Almighty.

“Praise God from Whom all blessings flow!

Praise Him all creatures here below.

Praise Him above ye heavenly hosts

Praise Father Son and Holy Ghost. Amen”
