Some Good News!!!

“As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country.” Proverbs 25:25

“Sing to the Lord, bless His name; proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day.” Psalm 96:2

“How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who proclaims peace, who brings glad tidings of good things, who proclaims salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns!” Isaiah 52:7

“But now that Timothy has come to us from you, and brought us good news of your faith and love, and that you always have good remembrance of us, greatly desiring to see us, as we also to see you…” Thessalonians 3:6

All the bad news you can handle is readily available with no effort to search it out. It’s there for the bingeing at any time. But, really good news sometimes seems rare and sparse when it comes. Partly because we live in a world that has been dying since the fall of Adam and Eve, and partly because we humans are by nature creatures broken by sin. The worst among us do heinous things that often times leaves the majority of people wondering how someone could be so evil?

But how much joy and gladness of heart do we experience when we hear good news. It is indeed like water to a thirsty soul. As believers in Jesus Christ we are, by our reborn natures, always hungering for righteousness and thirsting for the truth of God. When we find it we feel restored, renewed and refresh in our spirit.

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled." Matthew 5:6

Even dead things can be made alive again by the Word of God.

“Again He said to me, “Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! Thus says the Lord God to these bones: “Surely I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live.” Ezekiel 37:4-5

If you have come to place where you’re just sick and tired of being sick and tired, of being surrounded by the noise of doom, gloom and despair, then rejoice today, because Good News has come to your house.

This is a quick reference list of things you can say over yourself and your loved ones to redirect your attention toward the Lord knowing that when you do, God will keep you in perfect peace because your mind is continually focused toward Him.

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” Isaiah 26:3
