And Having Done All, Stand
“Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” Ephesians 6:13
Standing against the resistances of circumstances that don’t line up with God’s Word is not uncommon for us as believers. As a matter of fact, Jesus told us to expect it.
“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
Today’s devotional is in the form of a video that was sent to me recently. You may have already seen it but I think it punctuates in a very pragmatic way the idea of “having done all, to stand.”
Most of us are more inclined to give up in the face of resistance than we are to pressing on through it.
The story of the movie The Pursuit of Happiness, that stars Will Smith and his real life son portraying a father struggling to make a life for his son and himself, is also compelling.
The link below is by an inspirational speaker, Rick Rigsby. who shares the story of a “third grade drop out.”
I hope you will be encouraged and inspired.
