Proverbs – News From The Source – Part 20 F

“Do not devise evil against your neighbor, for he dwells by you for safety’s sake. Do not strive with a man without cause, if he has done you no harm. Do not envy the oppressor, and choose none of his ways; for the perverse person is an abomination to the Lord, but His secret counsel is with the upright. The curse of the Lord is on the house of the wicked, but He blesses the home of the just. Surely He scorns the scornful, but gives grace to the humble. The wise shall inherit glory, but shame shall be the legacy of fools." Proverbs 3:29-35

There is so much that can be learned from a study of the Glory of God. It is a means of expressing the immeasurable, inexpressible radiance and splendor of God’s appearance. It is also a reference to all He possesses, all He rules over, all He knows, all He reveals and all that He has hidden. The Glory of God is everything that He is, that He has and all that He does, uncontained and unlimited by time and spa

ce. Glory is all that has been said, all that is being said and all that will be said in praise, worship and thanksgiving to Him.

Now we are created to glorify God. That’s our function and purpose as created beings. To glorify God, we submit our obedience to His commandments, we exercise our faith, fidelity and trust in His Word and His promises, and we give our fullest respect and allegiance to His wisdom in all things, first and last.

Jesus as a man is the brightness of God’s Glory and the very gospel that we preach is the outworking of His glory in us. All the knowledge of God, all that we may know of Him is expressed in the face of Jesus Christ.

“For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” 2 Corinthians 4:6

“He is the sole expression of the glory of God [the Light-being, the out-raying or radiance of the divine], and He is the perfect imprint and very image of [God’s] nature, upholding and maintaining and guiding and propelling the universe by His mighty word of power. When He had by offering Himself accomplished our cleansing of sins and riddance of guilt, He sat down at the right hand of the divine Majesty on high…” Hebrews 1:3 AMP

Being as He is also, fully God, Jesus’ humanity is filled with the glory of God, and that glory radiates from His innermost being. Imagine that the Sun is the sum of the glory of God then Jesus would be the fullness of heat and light radiating from the Sun. He would be One with the sun, the express image of the Sun.

Now here is a most amazing thing for us to consider about the glory of God in Jesus Christ, it is transferable. We get to inherit it through our Lord Jesus Christ.

“And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one.” John 17:22

Let that sink in for a moment. Jesus said, all authority in heaven and Earth has been given to Him. And all that the Father has is His. Whoa!!!!!!

“And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.” Matthew 28:18

“All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall show it unto you.” John 16:15

“Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints, Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.” Ephesians 1:15

You and I as parts of the body of Christ together make up the fullness of Jesus and He fills all in all. All the glory of God is encompassed in Jesus Christ and now He has made a pathway for us to inherit all that He has obtained from the Father.

That pathway is wisdom.

“The wise shall inherit glory, but shame shall be the legacy of fools." Proverbs 3:35

The more we learn of wisdom, the more we seek it and live according to it, the more understanding we will have and therefore the more fully we will realize our inheritance in the glory of God.

“…that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead…” Ephesians 1:18-20

The way we receive an inheritance is after somebody dies they leave it to us. Jesus did just that for us, but even greater He rose again from the dead to give us an eternity to partake of it all with Him, with the Father and with the Holy Spirit.

All earthly inheritance is finite. Eventually the inheritance runs out. But the glory of God is His ever-increasing substance of good things and ever-expanding store to preserve them for our inheritance now and in all the days of eternity to come.

The fool has said in his heart, there is no God. Therefore, he will not inherit anything but shame in this life, and in the world to come. The legacy he will leave for his children will be only shame, unless he repents and confesses that Jesus Christ is Lord believing and receiving Him alone as Savior and Lord.

But, those who seek wisdom and act according to it will inherit glory. They will want for nothing, and every desire of their heart, consistent with the will and Word of God, will be fulfilled and there will be no sorrow sadness or regret with it.

“The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it...” Proverbs 10:22

Let’s agree together now, in prayer.

“Father, God and Savior of all, thank You for the amazing truth of Your Word and for the amazing promises to us in it. Thank You for a heart to do Your will and to trust You for everything that we need. Now, Lord I pray in the name of Jesus for everyone reading this that Your Spirit would surround them and keep them by Your grace and mercy. I pray You would give the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of You.

Lord, God, You know the needs of each one who has put their trust in You and in submission to our Lord Jesus Christ. You know the needs of those seeking You, and the needs of your servant. I pray Lord that You will now send forth Your ministering Spirits to bring the blessing from Your hand to each one of them and to me that we together may share in the glory that Jesus bought for us through His blood at Calvary. Thank You for the grace that covers us and for the all-surpassing love You have shown for us and continue to extend to us everyday. Thank You, Father for sharing Your glory with us that we maybe one with You and the Father, by the power of the Holy Spirit with us and in us. In the blessed and Holy name of Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord we pray. Amen.”

And now we join together in the prayer that the Apostle Paul prayed for the whole Church.
