A Prayer During Lent
Our Father in Heaven, Thank You for Your Holiness, Thank You, that Your name is Holy and all Your works are good and righteous. All that You created You called good and man You called very good. Thank You Father that through our Lord Jesus Christ we have right standing with You now as reborn spirits and through the blood of Jesus Christ we have been redeemed from the curse of the Law. Thank You that Jesus Christ, Your only begotten Son, our Lord who knew no sin became sin for us that we now through Him have become the righteousness of God in Him.
Now Lord as Your sons and daughters, Your children whom You have made Your heirs and joint heirs with Jesus Christ, we pray for Your presence to be so real in and through us that we will become indistinguishable from Our Lord Jesus Christ. Draw us so close to You now throughout these days that all the cares of this world are eclipsed by the glory of Your Holy presence in us, surrounding us and flowing out of us as we are being blessed to be a blessing to others.
Fill us afresh and anew with Your Holy Spirit that we will be empowered to proclaim the gospel through our words and our deeds in acts of kindness and generosity to the people we know and love and those we do not know and even those who do not love us. Refresh our minds and hearts, our bodies and all that concerns us that we might glorify You in strength and humility, in boldness and compassion.
Thank You, Lord for meeting ALL our needs today according to Your riches in glory by Christ Jesus. And thank You for answered prayer, as we in faith believe that we receive now, all that we have asked of You and all that You know we need. In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. AMEN.
