Lent Day 11 — A Prayer To Be One
thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled. And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves. I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.
Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; that they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.” John 17:8-23
“Father, Holy and Righteous God, Creator of all good a perfect things, Our Healer, Our Provider, Our Savior, Our Helper and Our Lord, we pray this day in thanksgiving for the joy of The Lord, for daily bread, for blessings, exceedingly abundantly above all that we could ask or think, for Salvation though our Lord Jesus Christ, for Life and that more abundantly, for peace that passes all understanding, for the windows of heaven opening now and pouring us out a blessing that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
In all these things, our heart’s desire is to be one with You and our Lord Jesus Christ, to live our lives so pleasing to You that we will be indistinguishable from Jesus, in all that we do, say, think and believe. Our prayer on this 11thday of Lent is that we may be one with You and Jesus, that You will be one with us, even as Jesus is one with You. One in heart, one in desires, one in wisdom, knowledge, understanding, one in grace, mercy, power and love, that we will be one in wholeness and health, one in compassion and one in obedience to and submission to Your Word even as our Lord Jesus is one with You in all things. Thank You, for the Holy Spirit working in us now, and daily, both to will and to do of Your good pleasure. Thank You, Father, for this answered prayer that we pray and agree together in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord. AMEN.”
