Lent – Day 20 — Prayer For Wholeness And Holiness
“And he said unto him, 'Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.'” Luke 17:19
“If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day?” John 7:23
“Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.” Matthew 15:28
“Father, God, Lord and Creator of all good things, we bless Your name today and acknowledge that we are nothing apart from You. But in You we have and can do all things. Lord, You have called us to be Holy and You have declared that we are now complete in Jesus Christ. Yet, we so often live as though we are broken and inadequate to the things that press on us for answers, for aid, for provision and for healing. In our brokenness we tend to see ourselves as failures, because we don’t understand that in You we are already Holy and we only need to get a picture of that in our minds and hearts and determine each day to walk that out resisting the attempts of the devil to captivate our minds and fill us with thoughts that run counter to Your Word.
The picture for us is our Lord Jesus. He is Holy and all that He did here on earth He did with an awareness of His relationship and place in You, Father. We are calledto be, and by His blood we are madeto be in the world as He is now in Heaven seated at Your own right hand.
“Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: becauseas he is, so are we in this world.” 1 John 4:17
This is the desire of our hearts to know and understand the righteousness that has been conferred to us, and the holiness that we are called to live out daily. We know from the WORD that to be holy is to be set apart for Your use and purpose.
“But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, (see 22-23) he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.” 2 Timothy 2:20-21
Lord, we desire during this season of Lent to renew our hearts to live holy before You and before the world.
Please heal our brokenness and renew our minds as we give ourselves to study and meditation in Your WORD, as we give ourselves to prayer and intersession for ourselves and for others. Renew in us and restore to us the joy of our salvation that we can live every day to serve You, to honor You, and to glorify Your name.
Thank You, Father, thank You Jesus, Thank You Holy Spirit for hearing and answering our prayer today in the Holy and Blessed name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ we pray. AMEN”
