Praying For The Vision
“As it is written, I have made you the father of many nations. [He was appointed our father] in the sight of God in Whom he believed, Who gives life to the dead and speaks of the nonexistent things that [He has foretold and promised] as if they [already] existed. AMP Romans 4:17
Ok. The world is not what we as Christians, prompted by the inner witness of the Holy Spirit, believe it should be. We believe God wants all evil to cease in the world and all men and women to know the saving grace of Jesus Christ, and to partake in the rich inheritance of salvation through faith in Him. We desire to see a world at peace, where everyone is free to live his or her life without fear and persecution, where evil, destruction and death do not prevail.
We want to see the lost found, the sick healed, the bind seeing, the deaf hearing, the lame walking, the dumb speaking and the dead being raised to life again. We long for a world that exists consistent with the plan of God from the beginning when all that He created was good and very good.
So what you are saying Joseph is you want to see Heaven on Earth? Isn’t that what Jesus said we should pray for? “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven?”
We say the words but in reality many of our brothers and sisters in the Church today are spending more time, if they are praying at all, praying from despair about the current state of things in the social political climate of our time, than taking hold of the vision of what the world can be as God intended it and praying for and declaring that to happen.
We can have a far more dynamic impact on our world if we push back against the darkness with Words of light and life.
Father, Your word says that the entrance of Your Word brings light.
“The entrance and unfolding of Your words give light; their unfolding gives understanding (discernment and comprehension) to the simple.” Psalm 119:130
And You have revealed to us that ignorance and death live in the darkness and blindness of men. Evil works in the hearts of men who have been blinded by the devil to be unaware of the goodness of God and the power of the Word manifested in the person of Jesus Christ.
"If our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them." 2 Corinthians 4:3-4
We therefore now speak to the darkness and the devil that have blinded the eyes of generations of people. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth we bind your evil works, schemes and plans, and command that you remove the blinders from the eyes of our loved ones that have caused them not to believe. And we command you to loose your hold on the minds of those in positions of leadership in this country that they will begin to see the light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and know the truth of Who He is and who they can be in Him.
We declare this nation to be submitted fully under the righteous authority of Almighty God and we declare the evil works of darkness rendered powerless to oppose Jesus Christ and His Church. The full and true Gospel of God is being declared in the churches of America and all that is not the true Gospel of Jesus Christ is falling powerless and without influence on the ears of those who are now hearing, discerning and receiving only what the Spirit of the Lord is speaking to the people of God.
We come against the darkness with the light of the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ, Who is the image of God, the Word of God shining on those who have until now followed the dictates of the devil, but are now by the power of the Holy Spirit having their hearts and minds convicted of sin so that they will come to repentance and acknowledgement of Jesus Christ as the only Savior and Lord over all.
“Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:of sin, because they do not believe in Me;of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more;of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.” John 16:7-11
It is the Holy Spirit that convicts the world of sin, not the criticism and judgments of men. We can preach all day about how bad things are to no avail. They just go on being bad and getting worse. But when we pray to the Father in the name of Jesus for the souls of men to be saved and when we declare the Word of God, speaking into the spirit realm, then we yield ourselves to the work of the Holy Spirit to convict the hearts of the lost to want to be saved.
“Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.” And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.” Luke 10:17-20
“And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, evento the end of the age.’Amen.” Matthew 28:18-20
We have authority to speak to the darkness and dispel it by the declaration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a demonstration of God’s Spirit and power. We have this authority because the One Who has been given all authority has transferred that authority to us by virtue of His commission to us to go into all the world and preach the Gospel with signs following, deliverance from demonic possession and oppression, speaking with new languages. Serpents will not harm us and deadly drinks will not hurt us, and the sick will recover with the laying on of our hands.
Notice Jesus did not tell the disciples the sick will be healed by us praying for God to heal them, but rather that they will recover by us laying on our hands. This does not preclude praying for their healing, but the authority to heal them has been given to our hands.
“And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” Mark 16:15-18
Finally, there is no limit in Heaven to what God will give us if we will ask in the name of Jesus.
“And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you.” John 16:23
The key is to know what can be asked in the name of Jesus. That is we can ask the Father for whatever is consistent with the name of Jesus. Healing, health, peace, salvation, deliverance, wisdom from above, prosperity, wealth to distribute to those in need and enjoy in the abundance of life, joy, happiness, good cheer, a merry heart, safety, security, provision of all kinds for the kingdom of God to come upon the earth, strength, energy, vitality, long life, a helpmate, healthy, blessed children, loved ones, loving companions, good friends and a host of all good things are consistent with the name of Jesus.
But evil, darkness, revenge, unforgiveness, death, destruction, poverty, lack, sickness, disease, suffering, sadness, mourning, grief without hope, criticism, cynicism, pessimism, negativism, judgmentalism, worry, fear, anxiety, cruelty, cunning, scheming, deceit, lying, sin in all its forms are not consistent with the name of Jesus.
So in the name of Jesus we take hold of the vision of this world as it should be, as God intended it to be and under the authority of the name of Jesus we speak life, light, hope, good and the peace of God into the world. We call the vision into existence by our words in the authority of the name of Jesus. And we pray for the peace of God that passes all understanding to keep our hearts and minds through Jesus Christ our Lord. Thank You Father, thank You Jesus, thank You Holy Spirit. Amen
