Our Faith Needs Hearing
Food for your spirit
A Summary of Hebrews 11
"By faith Noah…Abraham…Sarah…Jacob…Joseph…Moses… prepared an ark …went out…sojourned…conceived a child…offered up Isaac…blessed…prophesied …forsook Egypt…kept the Passover…passed through the Red Sea…Jericho fell down…Rehab did not perish…Gedeon, Barak, Samson, Jephthae, David, Samuel and the prophets…subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the sword, in weakness were made strong, were valiant in fight, turned armies and aliens to flight…women received their dead raised to life again…others were tortured, not accepting deliverance, that they might attain a better resurrection…suffered cruel mockings …scourgings …bonds …imprisonment …were stoned …sawn asunder…were tempted…slain with the sword…wandered about destitute, afflicted, tormented…wondered in deserts, mountains, dens and caves of the earth.
And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect. Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily besetus, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of ourfaith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds." Hebrews 11:7-12:3
We all need faith and the faith we have needs to become the dominant force in our lives, motivated by love. By faith we shall live and faith works by love.
“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17
Because we know that faith comes by hearing and hearing comes by the Word of God, we need to be filled with the Word of God that our hearts will overflow in abundance of Truth and Life.
I sense the heaviness of the burdens you are dealing with and my spirit is prompted in me to simply speak the Word to you today. By means of this post I exhort you to hear the Word of God by speaking these things aloud as you read them and let the power of God penetrate your soul, mind, body and spirit.
I feel your burden and that of others for whom I am praying. But I am confident that God is hearing our cries.
Hear these Words today.
“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.” I John 5:14-15NKJV
“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” III John 1:2 NKJV
“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:31-39 NKJV
“Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” Luke 12:32 NKJV
“But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. As it is written: “He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever.
Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness, while you are enriched in everything for all liberality, which causes thanksgiving through us to God. For the administration of this service not only supplies the needs of the saints, but also is abounding through many thanksgivings to God, while, through the proof of this ministry, they glorify God for the obedience of your confession to the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal sharing with them and all men, and by their prayer for you, who long for you because of the exceeding grace of God in you. Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!” II Corinthians 9:6-15 NKJV
“For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister.” Hebrews 6:10NKJV
“No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me,” says the Lord.” Isaiah 54:17
“But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.” Isaiah 53:5
“Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh? Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the Lord shall be thy rereward…” Isaiah 58:6-10
“And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God: “Blessed shallyou bein the city, and blessedshallyou bein the country. “Blessed shall bethe fruit of your body, the produce of your ground and the increase of your herds, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks. “Blessed shall beyour basket and your kneading bowl. “Blessed shallyou bewhen you come in, and blessed shallyou bewhen you go out. “The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways. “The Lord will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and in all to which you set your hand, and He will bless you in the land which the Lord your God is giving you.
“The Lord will establish you as a holy people to Himself, just as He has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the Lord your God and walk in His ways. Then all peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they shall be afraid of you. And the Lord will grant you plenty of goods, in the fruit of your body, in the increase of your livestock, and in the produce of your ground, in the land of which the Lord swore to your fathers to give you. The Lord will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.
And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them.So you shall not turn aside from any of the words which I command you this day, tothe right or the left, to go after other gods to serve them.” Deuteronomy 28:2-14
We are not alone. God will come to our aid and will pour out on us an abundance of goodness, healings, provisions, success, favor, joy, peace, grace, mercy, wisdom, health and blessings too many to receive. More than enough, far above all that we could ask or think.
So, DON’T FAINT! DON’T GIVE UP! DON’T QUIT! You are closer now to the realization of your blessing than when you first believed.
“And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.” Romans 13:11
“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.” Galatians 6:9-10NKJV
“In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18
