Whatever You Say You Can Have

“For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, “Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.” Mark 11:23

In more ways than most of us might realize, we do have control over our present and our future. The fact that God has placed the power of death and life in our tongues and then gave us the choice to choose one or the other is evidence that we in large measure are the ones who are setting the course of our lives by our words. What we are saying today is preparing the atmosphere we will live in tomorrow. What we say and affirm of God’s Word and will in our lives is what we will receive. Caution: Negative words, the words that are not of God will produce negative circumstances in our lives. Notice “, …he will have whatever he says.”

Here this,

“I call Heaven and Earth to witness against you today: I place before you Life and Death, Blessing and Curse. Choose life so that you and your children will live.” Deuteronomy 30:19

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” Proverbs 18:21

“Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.” Matthew 21:21

“For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, “Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.” Mark 11:23

“So the Lord said, “If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.” Luke 17:6

There are six important phrases to note in these three verses that gives us a deeper understanding of the power of our words.

First, in all three we are told what our attitude must be for our words to bear fruit.“If you have faith...” Matthew 21”21; “…shall not doubt in his heart…” Mark 11:23 and “If you had faith…” Luke 17:6

So then, faith is fundamental, and we know that faith is the means by which we please God. Without it we cannot please Him.

“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” Hebrews 11:6

The other three phrases are these. “…it shall be done.” Matthew 21:21; “…shall have whatever he says…” Mark 11:23 and “…it would obey you.” Luke 17:6

The emphasis here is that our Words have the force of authority 1) to change things, 2) to receive whatever is needed and 3) to cause things to obey our commands.

But none of these happens capriciously. If they did, then the ungodly, speaking from the self-centered greed of their ungodly hearts, would declare themselves Gazilionaires and lord over everyone else with cruelty and unrestrained destructive power.

Jesus set the boundaries and conditions by which our words result in having what we say. The first is faith in God without doubt. The faith here is a specific kind of belief unto an expectation of realizing what we desire as a result of our faith. The full context of Mark 11:23 is found in verses 22 and 23.

“So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God.” Mark 11:22

Having faith in God is having faith in the truth, the power and the authority of His Word, not our capricious declarations intended to satisfy our human lusts.

“From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.” James 4:1-3

Faith also works in the negative. Ever wonder why it is that evil men can amass great wealth and seem to prosper in everything they do without much effort while many believers who claim faith in Jesus Christ tend to struggle just to make ends meet from day to day?

There is a simple answer to that question and Jesus addressed it with the disciples.

“And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.” Luke 16:8

He told them there are two systems operating in the earth, one in the world and the other in the power of the Spirit of God. Those who are well trained and experienced in the ways of the world can prosper mightily because they know well how their system works. They use all the tools of the evil one, greed, intimidation, kickbacks, unjust weights, lies, manipulations, extortion, deceptions, fraud and all sorts of cunning devices, skillfully appropriating its laws in all that they do. They don’t always last, eventually their great wealth will cease and all they acquired will come to naught.

But the Children of light are not as skillful in the use of their system, the workings of the Kingdom of God, because too often we are not as aware of His Word or as submitted to the leading of the Holy Spirit as we can and should be.

One of the fundamental principles of Kingdom of God economics is wecanhave whatever we say by faith in God. But we can only have faith in God if we have faith in His Word, Because, God and His Word are One. Jesus is the Word made flesh to dwell among us. Then Word and Jesus are One and Jesus and God the Father are One. Jesus said to the disciples. “If you have seen me you have seen the Father.”[John 14:9]

We could say then if you have seen the Word you have seen God

By faith in God’s Word we speak with authority and full expectation that what we are saying will come to pass because it is the will of God. God’s Word is His will.

Here are just a few things that we know are the will of God.

His will is that we prosper and be in health even as our souls prosper. [3 John 2]

It is His will that we have life and that more abundantly. [John 10:10]

It is His will that we win souls into His kingdom. [Proverbs 11:30, Mark 16:15, Jude 22-23],

It is His will that the peace of God rule in our hearts. [Colossians 3:15]

It is His will that the Word of Christ dwell in us richly. [Colossians 3:16]

It is His will that we have the wisdom from above. [Proverbs 4:7, James 3:17]

It is His will that we are blessed wherever we go, in whatever we do by faith in Him. [Hebrews 6:14, Deuteronomy 28:1-14]

It is His will that no evil befall us and no plague come near our dwelling. [Psalm 19:10]

It is His will that we worship Him in Spirit and in truth. [John 4:23-24]

It is His will that we choose life and blessing. [Deuteronomy 30:19]

It is His will that we walk in love. [Romans 14:15, Ephesians 5:2, 2 John 6]

It is His will that we live by faith. [Romans 1:17, Galatians 3:11, Hebrews 10:38]

We are His people and the sheep of his pasture. He is our Good Shepherd. All that we need He will provide.

Finally, consider this.

What if our faith was founded solely on God’s Word as it has been given to us in the Scriptures, not on some passing emotional feeling or some persuasive preaching about the Word which is subject to error, not on man’s opinion about God’s Word which is rife with contradiction and uncertainty, not even on sweet old sister Sadie’s experience that has become legend among the saints, nor even our own experience that without knowledge of the Word and understanding of true faith we tried and “it didn’t work?” NO! None of these.

What if we put our wholehearted, unreserved, single-minded faith in God’s Word, taking our stand and not wavering from it, and as the old folks used to say, “come hell or high water” we refuse to be moved from it?

Thatis faith that pleases God, and against it there is no law or power of hell that can prevail.

This is the faith God has put before us to choose to walk in every minute of every day. Now here’s even more good news. Most of us who believe in Jesus Christ unto the forgiveness of our sins and the obtaining of salvation that leads to eternal life are living this way in many areas of our lives daily by the power of the Holy Spirit.

But some still lack faith in times when the circumstances seem to be beyond our understanding to meet the need. That is when we need to make a once and for all decision that we are going to have faith in God and order our actions and particularly our words to speak what God has said concerning us and our circumstances, regardless of how they may momentarily look to the contrary. Indeed our faith is the most perfect in the face of the things that to us would seem impossible.

With men it is impossible, but with God all things are possible. We can have what we saywhen what we say is what God has said concerning us. Every promise in Him is yes and amen.

“For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.” 2 Corinthians 1:20

Here are some practical statements of faith that can set the course of your day on a daily basis and for the rest of your life.

This is a repost from a devotional in January of 2010. It has been updated and included here incase you missed it or even if you didn’t miss it I share it to remind you of the great source of power and life God has given us in His Word.

To the glory of God the Father, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. What we say continually makes all the difference. As you have opportunity I encourage you to declare these things audibly so you can hear them with your own ears. Then they will go into your heart. They will also penetrate the atmosphere and move the things that cannot be seen and cause them to become reality. The Word of faith for today...declaring the truth before it happens.

“This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success.” Joshua 1:8

“Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.” Romans 13:8

(For best results please say these things aloud and loudly.) I live with great joy and anticipation in the realization of this truth which is now and shall be. I owe no man anything but to love one another. In this love I have fulfilled the law.

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7

I have the mind of Christ. Therefore, I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me.

“And God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation]…”. 2 Corinthians 9:8 AMP

I am abundantly supplied and furnished for every good work and charitable donation

“The blessing of the Lord—it makes [truly] rich, and He adds no sorrow with it [neither does toiling increase it].” Proverbs 10:22 AMP

I am blessed by the Lord and His blessing is making me rich and I have no sorrow nor increased toiling with it. Faith confessions

Speaking and calling forth the truth, the facts, the reality that is now, by faith in God,–penetrating the spirit realm (the atmosphere) with the creative power of the Word of God.

These are personal confessions but they are also beneficial to be spoken in groups by everyone. GOD IS FOR ME

THE LORD IS ON MY SIDE... I AM NOW A CHILD OF GOD... I AM A JOINT HEIR WITH JESUS CHRIST...

I AM CHRIST’S AND THEREFORE I AM ABRAHAM’S SEED AND AN HEIR ACCORDING TO THE PROMISE... THIS IS THE PROMISE, THAT I AM BLESSED AND I AM A BLESSING, GOD HAS GIVEN ME THE WORLD, THE WHOLE EARTH IS MY INHERITANCE WITH ALL THE SAINTS OF GOD.

“The earth is the LORD’s, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.” Psalm 24:1

THE RICHES OF THE EARTH ARE MY PROMISED INHERITANCE IN CHRIST GOD IS OPENING THE WINDOWS OF HEAVEN AND POURING ME OUT A BLESSING THAT THERE IS NOT ROOM ENOUGH TO RECEIVE IT. I GIVE AND I FORGIVE

I GIVE AND IT IS GIVEN UNTO ME

MEN ARE GIVING INTO MY BOSOM, GOOD MEASURE, PRESS DOWN, SHAKEN TOGETHER AND RUNNING OVER ALL THAT I SET MY HANDS TO PROSPERS MY WAY IS BEING MADE PROSPEROUS AND I AM HAVING GOOD SUCCESS I AM THE HEAD AND NOT THE TAIL I AM ABOVE ONLY AND NOT BENEATH I AM RIDING UPON THE HIGH PLACES OF THE EARTH I HAVE FAVOR WITH GOD AND WITH MEN I AM RICH IN THE WORD OF GOD IN THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT WEALTH AND RICHES ARE IN MY HOUSE I AM WISE IN ALL MY ENDEAVORS AND ENTERPRISES I DEAL WISELY IN ALL THINGS I AM WINNING SOULS

I AM DECLARING THE KINGDOM OF GOD ON THE EARTH I AM LIVING AS LIGHT AND SALT TO THE EARTH I AM PROVIDING ILLUMINATION [Light] ON THE EARTH (TRUTH, KNOWLEDGE, WISDOM AND UNDERSTANDING) I AM PROVIDING FLAVOR [Salt] (SPICE, BEAUTY, JOY, ZEST, INTEREST, EMOTIONAL AND SPIRITUAL STIMULATION, PASSION, AFFECTION, EMBRACE, KINDNESS, GENTLENESS, MEEKNESS, LOVE, GOODNESS, AN ATTITUDE OF FORGIVENESS AND LONGSUFFERING, COMPASSION, MERCY AND GRACE.) I AM, WITH ALL THE CHURCH, THE DWELLING PLACE OF GOD AND OF JESUS ON THE EARTH. I AM IN CHRIST AND HE IS IN ME MY LIFE IS HID WITH CHRIST IN GOD I AM A LIVING EPISTLE BEING READ BY ALL

I WALK BY FAITH AND NOT BY SIGHT

I AM HEALED

I AM WHOLE

I AM LED BY THE SPIRIT OF GOD

I SEEK AND RECEIVE THE WISDOM THAT IS FROM ABOVE

I AM LOVED

THE JOY OF THE LORD IS MY STRENGTH

Now If you determine to make these things your daily confessions you will see great results in your life and for the Kingdom of God on the earth. There are many more you can include as the Lord reveals them to you. The blessings of the Lord be to you, in you and through you without measure, AMEN.
