Our Father Has Never Failed Us
“He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?” Romans 8:32
God has never failed to fulfill His promises. And He won’t start now.
It usually comes in cycles. We see a move of God or we experience a great blessing, a victory, a success or some long awaited goal is reached and we glory in those moments for a while. But, eventually the mundane, routine of life slowly, almost imperceptibly, like a seducing serpent slithers its way back into our thoughts and even becomes the subject of our conversation if we are not vigilant. Then when the thoughts take root they can lead to all sorts of stresses, particularly despair and discouragement, even the contemplation of hopelessness. The psalmist describes it as differed hope that makes the heart sick. [Psalm 13: 12]
But we need not allow ourselves to be so taken by these false notions as though our God would ever forget His word or fail to do all that He has promised. It is unthinkable, indeed. Would God, Who gave His only begotten Son to suffer so cruelly and die for our sins, then turn around and withhold from us things and stuff we need for life and health or for empowerment to fulfill His calling on our lives? Of course not! His Word assures us that He will do exceeding abundantly above all we could ask or think. [Ephesians 3:20] No, indeed, we have no reason at all to doubt or despair. We may simply need to be patient while we wait for the move of God’s provident hand.
“For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.” Hebrews 10:36
Our work is simply to believe and not to be shaken, to stand fast, assured of His love, of His kindness and compassion. By faith we take hold of His Word and we set our hearts not to be moved until we see the fulfillment of our heart’s desire and of His promise. It is our faith that honors God and our faith in Him that empowers us to receive the fulness of His blessings, provision, prosperity, wisdom, restored relationships, healed bodies, renewed strength, and peace.
Fear not! God is with us. Be not dismayed for He is our God. He will strengthen us. He will help us. He will uphold us with the right hand of His righteousness.
“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” Isaiah 41:10
“Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” Luke 12:32
