ABOUT STEPHEN & JASON
As sons and daughters of God we are called to be creative and willing to take risks through art to advance the kingdom. When Stephen McWhirter and Jason Clayborn came together from two very different church music cultures (gospel and worship), what came out was something creative and full of life. In 2020, the two recorded Choir Sessions (featuring, Glory Hallelujah), afterwards they released the Christmas Single, Born A King, which was featured on the Chosen TV series Christmas Special (along side such artists as Chris Tomlin, For King and Country, and Hillsong United). Stephen and Jason have been working together ever since, and with the new album, Highest Praise, the two have truly found their stride. Recorded live in the studio, it captures the power and soulful authenticity of Stephen and Jason’s voices, while unapologetically highlighting the talent of the musicians. The title track, highest Praise, is just that, high praise to Jesus in the form of soulful classic rock, reminiscent of Stevie Wonder and bands like Humble Pie. When you listen to the songs on this record, from the Motown nostalgia of God Be Yourself to the congregational declaration of Let There Be Love, you will notice they run the gamut from worship, to gospel, to ccm soul music, all while still feeling intricately connected to the album, on a whole.
Stephen McWhirter is a songwriter with Essential Music Publishing / Sony PLG, and a recording Artist with Lula Street Records in distribution with Integrity Music. He is also a touring worship leader, producer, speaker, and author, seeing thousands come to Christ through God’s calling on his life and his powerful testimony of God transforming him from meth addict to worship leader. Also, Stephen is formally one of the prominent songwriters and voices for the worship collective, Iron Bell Music, which was signed to Essential Worship and Provident Label Group.

Watch Jason Clayborn & The Atmosphere Changers
Jason Clayborn is signed to Tyscot Records, is a Dove Award-winning gospel recording artist, GMA (Gospel Music Association), Grammy, and Stellar Awards nominee. He is the oldest of six born to Jocelyn Clayborn, in Louisville, Kentucky. At an early age, Clayborn began singing and playing drums in the local church and in the National Convention of Gospels Choirs and Choruses (NCGCC). He has toured the world with other national artists including several European and African tours with Dr. Ron Kenoly. In 2002, He was a member of the world-renowned hip-hop gospel group, The Righteous Riders. Also, he and his choir, The Atmosphere Changers have performed live on the 2021 Stellar Awards, alongside Hezekiah Walker
