“Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” Luke 12:32
One of the greatest gifts of the Christian life is to be so immersed in the Word of God and eagerly listening for the leading of the Holy Spirit that when trouble comes or we find ourselves burdened with pain and physical discomfort we have an anchor for our souls that is sure and steadfast. That anchor is Jesus Christ our Lord who is ever present with us to heal, to deliver, to comfort, to take away our burdens, and to set us free, to rest in His unchanging love. To know how much we are loved, and how much more God is with us to bless and not to condemn, is one of the greatest gifts of His grace.
“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” Romans 8:1
The idea of walking after the Spirit has several implications. 1) that the Holy Spirit is leading us and we are following Him. 2) that His wisdom, The Word of God, is guiding us by providing knowledge, wisdom, and understanding, so we can make decisions that are profitable for us and in agreement with His Kingdom's purposes for our lives 3) that at the very core of our being as His sons, His children, we desire to imitate God, Jesus, in all the ways The Holy Spirit reveals Him to us.
This is Jesus’s promise to us concerning the Holy Spirit. Of Him Jesus said, He, The Holy Spirit will lead us into all truth. What He reveals to us about Jesus is truth.
“Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. 14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. 15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.” John 16:13-15
The central pathway to all that God has given and is giving to us for life is worship. When we worship Him with our words (the fruit of our lips giving thanks) with our songs, (sounding forth His praise, declaring His goodness, His majesty, His Strength, His Glory, His Wisdom His Honor, His Worthiness, His Power, His Riches, His Blessings) with our emotions, with our substance, with our strength and even in our weakness, we are transformed by His Spirit to be refashioned in His image and likeness as we were from the beginning of creation.
Through worship we are made ready to be His agents of rulership in the Spirit realm to restore godliness in every place we walk in this world. Through worship we are bathed, like incense, in the aroma of God, the aroma of Jesus, who is the Life and the giver of Life more abundantly.
Pray and sing with the spirit and with the understanding. Worship the Lord with your whole heart, soul, mind and strength. In every situation and circumstance of life, Jesus is with us so we can trust Him to deliver us, to meet our needs, to give us discernment, to give us understanding, to give us peace in the midst of the storm, to comfort us, encourage us and sustain us even to the ends of the world.
“But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, 21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. Jude 17:20-21
