There is a truth that we who love and follow Christ must not forget. As His servants, ministers and friends we must remind ourselves that the Sabbath belongs to us. It is God’s day of rest that we get to embrace and enter into willfully, not by edict of the law, but by the admonition and invitation of the Spirit. Jesus said, come unto me all ye who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. This day was made for God’s pleasure. His creation was completed in six days. On the seventh day He rested. Who did He rest with? He rested with all creation and particularly on this seventh day He rested with His man He created, male and female. He rested and Adam and Eve rested with Him.
