Stir up the gift and be filled with the Spirit

Things Are Out of Order in the World

“Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.” 2 Timothy 1:6
“Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another in the fear of God.” Ephesians 5:17-21

As I have been praying as I am sure many of you have been doing also, I have sensed that things are so out of order in the world that the only place to find any real peace and quietness for our minds is in the Word of God. Only when we turn away from the noise of the media and the continual drumbeat of reporting on matters over which we have no direct or even indirect control, can we find a means of bringing our minds, our thoughts and our bodies back to a place of natural rhythm and balance emotionally, physically and most importantly spiritually.

There is something really weighty going on. I do sense that we are in the middle of a great move of God that is only beginning to be manifested. I am both encouraged and charged up in my spirit, hopeful and vigilant. Something big is definitely on the horizon and the move of God, I sense, will be swift. I do hear of more and more believers beginning to be stirred and many don’t know what’s happening but they are feeling the effects of what I believe is a call of the Lord to stand firm and not be shaken by current events, but be filled with the knowledge and the Word of God, allowing His Holy Spirit to work freely in us without question or hesitation.

Pray and keep on praying. And while you are praying also listen to hear what the Spirit of the Lord will say in answer to your prayers. He may even interrupt you while you a praying with a Word of wisdom, a Word of knowledge and exhortation, a word of edification or comfort. Be sober be vigilant, be alert to opportunities to be the hands of God reaching out to touch someone with life and that more abundantly.

Expect a miracle, expect the blessing, expect the wisdom of God to teach and to guide you through this time as we look forward to the new thing God is doing in us and through us, to His glory. Amen.
