Words of Deliverance, Assurance and Comfort

“May the LORD answer you in the day of trouble; may the name of the God of Jacob defend you…” Psalm 20:1
“Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.” Psalm 50:15
“The LORD is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and He knows those who trust in Him.” Nahum 1:7

The day of trouble is anytime we find ourselves overcome by evil, overburdened by the cares of this world, in sickness, in danger, in want or need, in sorrow or in despair, even in time when our own deeds have resulted in our discontent, failure and loss, anytime the enemy comes in like a flood. These are the day of trouble. In such times we should always, first and foremost, call on the Lord, to call on His name, to trust Him to deliver us, knowing that He loves us and He only desires what is good for us. He takes pleasure in our prosperity, not in our failure. He takes pleasure in our recognition and acknowledgment of our helplessness apart from Him.

Therefore, His is not only slow to anger but He is abundant in mercy and long suffering in in our faults and failures. He knows that we are dust, frail in our humanity. But into these fragile pots of clay, these earthen vessels He has chosen to deposit His greatest treasure, the life of His only begotten Son our Lord, Jesus Christ. And with His Son we have received the earnest deposit of the Holy Spirit, our comforter, teacher, our guide, our power, and our peace.

So, whenever you are facing a time of trouble, call on the Lord. He will hear, and He will answer you. He will glorify you and His name will defend you.

To God be the Glory! All Thanksgiving, worship, honor, and praise belong to Him! Blessed be the name of the Lord! Now and forevermore, Amen and Amen!
