Beyond The Manger

"God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?" Numbers 23:19

"And also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor repent: for he is not a man, that he should repent." 1Sam. 15:29

God is not a man that He should lie, neither the son of man that He should repent.  He declared Jesus to be His Son, [Psalm 2:7; Hebrews 1:5] and Jesus affirmed His sonship with the Father when He said, He and the Father are one. [John 10:30]

Jesus is the only begotten Son of God. His beginning as a man was His birth to the virgin Mary, by the Holy Spirit, but that was no the beginning of His life. He was with God from the beginning, and He, from the beginning, was and is God. His beginning as God did not start in the manger, nor at the inception through Mary by the Holy Spirit. The birth of Jesus was indeed the incarnation of God as a human being, and that incarnation was the beginning of the end of man's separation from God. By Him and through Him we have redemption from sin and death and are made alive forevermore, by the same Spirit that raised Him from the dead.

God (The Word) was not born to a woman in a manger. Jesus, the Christ, the Lamb of God Who takes away the sins of the World, our Savior and Lord, was born that night in Bethlehem. But He, as God is now, and always has been. John 1 reveals that at the beginning of the creation of all things, the WORD was already here and that WORD was JESUS

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men." John 1:1-4
"And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth." John 1:14

By His birth Jesus made the only pathway for man to be restored to the glory he once knew at his creation. That glory was lost through his disobedience, having succumbed to the temptation of the fallen spirit who through pride and rebellion against God, his Creator, sought to exalt himself above God. But that fallen spirit, Satan, was cast out of Heaven and fell down to the lowest place on the earth.

But God, because of HIs infinite love for mankind, made Himself lower than the angels, to become as man to rescue man from the curse of sin and death by becoming The sacrifice for him. He came into the world through the agency of a baby, who was and became, the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.

Christmas is the story of God's Love coming to save all mankind and redeem the fallen world from sin and death.

Love was born in the lowliest place, to the lowliest people. Love was seen first by shepherds, who declared His birth to the poor, the meek, the lowly and the lost, and to those who eagerly looked for their Messiah.  He was visited by Kings from the East who had heard of His coming from the prophets of old when Israel was in captivity hundreds of years before His birth.

Now we, who have known Him through faith in the His name, who have been redeemed by His blood and been given the gift of the Holy Spirit, rejoice in the remembrance of His birth and worship Him now as the King of kings and the Lord of lords, while we eagerly await His return in power and great glory!!!!

May you and your children, and their children, and their children, your heart, and your house, be filled with God our Father's majesty, and may His love, being shed abroad in your hearts by the Holy Spirit, abound in you and overflow from you to the edification, comfort, peace, blessing, glory, and joy of God's presence, to all those around you throughout this Christmas season, and in all the days to come.  To God alone be all the GLORY!!!!

What Child Is This?

What Child is this who, laid to rest,On Mary’s lap is sleeping?Whom angels greet with anthems sweet,While shepherds watch are keeping?

This, this is Christ the King,Whom shepherds guard and angels sing;

Haste, haste to bring Him laud,The Babe, the Son of Mary.

Why lies He in such mean estate,Where ox and ass are feeding?Good Christians, fear, for sinners hereThe silent Word is pleading.Nails, spear shall pierce Him through,The cross be borne for me, for you;Hail, hail the Word made flesh,The Babe, the Son of Mary.

So bring Him incense, gold, and myrrh,Come peasant, king to own Him;The King of kings salvation brings,Let loving hearts enthrone Him.Raise, raise a song on high,The virgin sings her lullaby;Joy, joy for Christ is born,The Babe, the Son of Mary.
