“It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High…” Psalm 92:1
“Bless the LORD, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits:
Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases,
Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.” Psalm103:1-5
There is gratitude and there is deeper gratitude. Deeper gratitude contemplates the cost and magnitude of sacrifice and suffering that Jesus endured for us. This is the gratitude that makes such an impact on us that a stamp of that cost is imprinted on our hearts and minds that cannot be ignored, denied, or forgotten. The measure of our gratitude can never be fully expressed, but with all that is in us we live to give God our best expressions of gratitude and love for His great love and sacrifice for us.
We are also called to give honor and tribute to whom it is due. Memorial Day provides an opportunity to express our appreciation to those who have fought, lived, and died to protect and defend our freedoms as the people of this One Nation Under God, indivisible with Liberty and Justice for all.
So, to the men and women of all the branches of our Armed Forces, Army, Navy, Coast Guard, National Guard, Air Force, Marines, and Space Force we say, “Thank you, for your service and sacrifice!” We pray that the blessings of God’s provisions, peace and prosperity be on you and your families. We pray that our nation will truly become a nation whose God is the Lord, [Psalm 33:12] that the Word of God will rule in the hearts of all its citizens and that we may be a people pleasing to Him in all our ways.
We pray that righteousness will rule in every branch of our government, Legislative, Executive, and Judicial, in the Presidency, the cabinet and federal agencies, the Congress House and Senate, and the Supreme Court and lower courts.
Lord, we pray You will restore us to wholeness as people and as a nation, with gratitude with humility before You, to glorify You and magnify Your great name, even Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord now and forever. In the name of Jesus, we pray and say, Thank You, Father, Thank You, Jesus, Thank You, Holy Spirit!!! AMEN and AMEN!!!
