Thanksgiving – Everyday

“On the first day of the week let each one of you lay something aside, storing up as he may prosper…” 1Cor. 16:2

Give unto the LORD, O ye kindreds of the people, give unto the LORD glory and strength. Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come into his courts. O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth. Psalm 96:7-9

“Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.” Psalm 100:4

Can you imagine spending an entire day just considering how blessed and fortunate we are to be the sons and daughters of God, to be called the children of God, the people of God, to be counted among the saints through the ages, to be given a name that is identified with Jesus as His family?

We have so much to be thankful for. Today, and each day now leading up to Thanksgiving Day as you are able, I invite you to spend the day counting your blessings and telling God and Jesus and The Holy Spirit how much you love them, how much you love Him.

One of the last things my mother said to me before she went home to be with the Lord was, “Take care of yourself and count your blessings.” She was very wise. I shall be grateful to God for her and my dad for the rest of my life.

“Father God, we love You, Jesus, we love You, Holy Spirit, we love You and we are so grateful for Your love for us. We can’t begin to count all the ways You have blessed us, but as we are able, we take note today of just some of the rich blessings and favor You have shown toward us. Thank You for life, Thank You for love, Thank You for grace. Thank You for mercy. Thank You for forgiveness and restoration, Thank You for peace. Thank You for loving parents who taught us to love You and Love Your Word. Thank You for dear and faithful friends who are so kind, generous, encouraging, supportive and patient with me in all my frailties and foibles, thank You for... (you continue as you are moved in your heart…)…in the name of Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord we thank You!”
